In most dog sports the "team" consists of the dog and the person. In Flyball the team consists of four humans and four dogs. It is a relay type race. The dogs race (or "fly") down a lane of jumps to the flyball box. They retrieve a ball or soft bag then race back over the jumps. As soon as the dog finishes the return the next dog takes off. A big challenge for many dogs is to keep focussed on the task when some slip up happens, like when the dog in the next lane over drops the ball and it comes rolling enticingly into another lane.
